Das Netzwerk junger Iraner in Berlin hat sich am 13. Juni 2009, am Tag nach den Präsidentschaftswahlen im Iran, gegründet, um für die Protestbewegung im Iran hierzulande aktive Unterstützung zu gewinnen. 

Im Netzwerk finden sich jüngste Exiliraner, iranische Studenten, Migranten der zweiten Generation sowie ihre Unterstützer und Freunde zusammen.

Um eine grundlegende Demokratisierung und Wahrung der Menschenrechte im Iran zu gewährleisten, ist es von zentraler Bedeutung, die internationale Aufmerksamkeit aufrecht zu erhalten und die hiesige Zivilgesellschaft sowie die Bundesregierung dazu zu animieren, eindeutig Gesicht zu zeigen.

In diesem Sinne organisierte das Netzwerk bisher so verschiedene Aktionen wie die Großdemonstration vornehmlich junger Iraner am 21. Juni und die Videoinstallation in Kreuzberg am 26. Juni sowie das erste große Berliner Solidaritätskonzert am 3. Juli im Festsaal Kreuzberg mit namhaften Künstlern wie Mohsen Namjoo und Iraj Jannatie-Atai.

The Network of Young Iranians in Berlin was founded on 13 June 2009, the day following the presidential elections in Iran with a view on galvanising active support for the Iranian protest movement in Germany.

It is a shared platform for latest Iranian exiles, students from Iran, second generation immigrants and their friends and supporters.

Ongoing international attention is pivotal for a fundamental democratisation and the protection of human rights in Iran. The Network is seeking to encourage German civil society and government officials to take a clear stance on this issue. 

To that effect, it has organised a wide range of activities, including a major rally of mainly young Iranians in Berlin on 21 June and a public video performance on 26 June and the first big solidarity concert in Berlin on 3 July at Festsaal Kreuzberg, featuring renowned Iranian artists Mohsen Namjoo and Iraj Jannati Ataei.
